Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Tip an Enhanced S Pen

Most people aren’t even thinking of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at this point due to the hype surrounding the company’s Galaxy S4 launch to be held on Thursday.  But there are still rumors floating around, suggesting new specifications and features, as well as improvements to existing unique features, particularly the S Pen.

Sam Mobile, best known for its links to unofficial Android ROMs for Samsung devices, also has a good reputation in reporting the latestSamsung gadget rumors.  That said, the site’s latest scoop suggests a Sharp LCD display for the Galaxy Note 3, as opposed to the usual AMOLED display technology Samsung uses on its top-flight smartphones.  At the moment, Samsung is still shopping around and seeing which type of display would be best on the Note 3, but Sam Mobile added LCD display would be a wise choice, as it could make S Pen usage a much smoother experience.  Samsung has long used the S Pen on its Galaxy Note phablets and tablets as its defining feature; this stylus pen is used primarily for writing and drawing on the display, and can also be used with several unique software features and apps found on the Note series.  Aside from that, there weren’t too many details leaked on what improved S Pen experience could entail.
In addition, there’s a chance Samsung will use Green PHOLED technology on the Galaxy Note 3, much like it is rumored to do with the Galaxy S4.  Other likely Samsung Galaxy Note 3 specifications include a 5.9-inch or 6.3-inch display with 1080p display resolution, an Exnyos 5410 Octa eight-core processor with 2 GB RAM, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (or 5.0 Key Lime Pie) and, just like what’s becoming the status quo these days, a 13-megapixel rear camera.  The Note 3 is expected to be launched at IFA 2013, which takes place in Berlin this August.
