The analyst believes that Apple will unveil an iPhone 5S in June or July, long before the iPhone 6 proper rolls around. According to Misek, the iPhone 5S could ship in six or eight different colors, though all would pack an improved “Super HD” camera, up to 128GB of storage, NFC, and yes, an IGZO display.
What’s the big deal about IGZO? In a nutshell, it’s more responsive, energy-efficient and pixel-packed than the displays currently on the market. Sharp demoed off the technology – an improvement on current thin film transistor displays — at CEATEC earlier this year, with the highlight being a 6.1-inch screen packing a 2560 x 1600 resolution. That’s comparable to the resolution in a high-end, 30-inch desktop monitor, but crammed into such a tight space. It’s good for a whopping 498 pixels per inch
