Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has
clearly stated a few times before that it wasn’t planning on
adopting Google’s Android operating system and that it was committed
to Microsoft’s Windows Phone, but that did not prevent enthusiasts from imagining
a Nokia handset running Android.
Even more, the
latest concept phone that emerged in this regard was conceived as part of the
popular Google Nexus lineup and powered by the latest Android flavor out
there.
Coming
from designer Deepak Ahuja, via concept-phones, the new Nokia Nexus
G smartphone runsunder a yet unannounced flavor of Google’s
mobile platform, namely Android 4.3, while packing top-of-the-
line hardware
inside.
There’s a 5-inch
Super AMOLED HD+ touchscreen display on the front of the device, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and capable of
delivering a 1092 x 1320 pixels resolution at a density of 441 ppi.
Inside, there’s a
2GHz quad-core processor capable of offering increased performance
capabilities, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of internal storage, with no
microSD memory card included.
On the back, the concept device sports a 21MP PureView photo snapper with Xenon flash,
capable of a great imaging experience while on the go. It is complemented by a
4.5MP front camera, great for making video calls while on the go should such a
device ever arrive on shelves.
Other specs of the
Nokia Nexus G include a 4,050 mAh battery, a 3.5mm audio jack and Purity sound
enhancement, 4G LTE connectivity, and the usual set of sensors inside high-end
smartphones today.
For the time being,
however, this is merely a concept
phone, although a highly
appealing one, and chances are that it will remain only the product of a user’s
imagination. However, should Nokia fail with Windows Phone, there is a chance
that it would try its luck in the Android segment as well, but don’t hold your
breath for that.
if this is real, I'm definatley switching back to nokia
