Like always, we’re getting reports related to the iPhone, iPad and iPad Mini. A blog covering Apple news and rumors – iLounge has reported from “trusted sources” that the iPhone 5S will feature a processor bump, something each new generation generally arrives with, but most importantly, the rear camera will be upgraded with a 13-Megapixel camera sensor supplied by Sony Corporation (NYSE:SNE) (TYO:6758).
The iPhone 5 surely excels in taking quality snaps, but it doesn’t mean there’s no room for improvement and maybe that’s why the Cupertino company is thinking of a 13 megapixel camera. While the megapixels count tells only the half story, it would be worth seeing what new inputs Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) can make in terms of camera.
Currently the iPhone prototypes are codenamed N51 and N53, and the next generation iPhones may arrive in July. The form of this phone will be identical to that of iPhone 5.
Talking about the iPad 5, the new arrivals are rumored to come with thinner bezels like the iPad Mininnovate i and some new hardware upgrades under the hood. The new iPad 5’s code name is J72.
The report also speaks about the second generation iPad Mini which would arrive with Retina display (as expected) and powered by IGZO display technology. The iPad Mini 2 is code named J85 and will look identical to the first generation model. The expected announcement date for iPad 5 as well as iPad 2nd generation is October.
So to sum it up, we can expect an announcement of iPhone 5 during July. The 13 megapixel Sony camera on the iPhone seems to be a tempting news. Everyone is also expecting the next generation iPad Mini to come with Retina display, and we hope Apple doesn’t disappoint us this time.
