model number for what could be the next flagship smartphone from Samsung has been uncovered at the phone-maker’s website.
The hitherto unseen GT-I9500X was spotted at Samsung’s Global Download Centre, adding fuel to rumours that it might be the Galaxy S4 or possibly even the first handset from the S-giant to run on the open source Tizen operating system that’s said to be incoming this year.
Obviously this is purely speculation, but the timing of its discovery is certainly interesting given increased chatter lately about the next-generation kit.
Also, the model number is very similar to that of the Galaxy S3’s Asian variant – I9300 – so it’s not a complete stab in the dark.
Arriving sometime in April or May, the Galaxy S4 is mooted to bring a deluge of improvements, including an Exynos 5 series chipset clocked at 2GHz with an eight-core GPU and 2GB of RAM.
Also rumoured to be on board is a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED display boasting a full HD resolution, a 13-megapixel primary camera and maybe - just maybe – the next major iteration of Android, aka Key Lime Pie.
