Samsung Galaxy S4 - feature Snapdragon 600 processor - U.S -2013

The Samsung Galaxy S4 may be equipped with a Snapdragon 600 system-on-chip from Qualcomm, reports suggest.
Despite announcing an an eight-core chipset – the Exynos 5 Octa – at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung is seemingly readying at least one variant of its latest flagship smartphone featuring Qualcomm’s quad-core processor.

This is apparently because the Exynos 5 Octa isn’t LTE-enabled and hence will cost the electronics giant more to offer the superfast network technology in markets such as the US where all the major carriers stateside already offer LTE.
Samsung previously launched the Galaxy S3 with an LTE Snapdragon S4 chipset, which makes us think the Snapdragon 600 version is also intended for the US and other countries where 4G availability is substantially high.
That’s not to say the Exynos 5 Octa won’t feature on the Galaxy S4 at all. What’s likely to happen is it could come with the international/European variant, and include a dedicated LTE chip for specific countries or even carriers.
With the 4G revolution fast taking shape in the UK, we expect the Galaxy S4 to combine the best of both worlds.
Aside from 4G LTE and possibly an octa-core processor, the Galaxy S4 is also rumoured to bring a 13-megapixel ‘Orb’ camera, wireless charging skills and a 4.99-inch full HD display.
Samsung is tipped to officially announce the Galaxy S4 at a press gathering in New York sometime next month.
