LG Optimus Vu II

LG’s newest phablet, Optimus Vu II, cropped at the CES 2013 and it still has the same huge 5” IPS LCD touchscreen display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1.3Mp camera up front and 8Mp camera on the rear. However, the device is now noticeably thinner with 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB on original. Other enhancements include the addition of microSD card slot and the onboard storage has been bumped from 32GB to 64GB.

It is a bit unfortunate that the Vu II still runs on Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), while many upcoming devices already get Jelly Bean. Additionally, the new phablet comes with two new apps. Panorama Note is a direct enhancement over the Quick Memo used on the original, which now allows users to take “panoramic notes” and scrolls from side to side.
There are also more background pictures and pen-tip styles. Vu Talk is a virtual assistant similar to Samsung’s S-Memo and it accepts users’ commands, such as creating notation on photos and documents.
