Galaxy S4 Release Date Is Not MWC 2013 - Confirms Head of Samsung Mobile

Samsung Galaxy S4 release date
Most of the tech publications are speculating about the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date these days, one of the smartphones set to become one of the overachievers of Android world in 2013. Some said it will be officially announced next month at Mobile World Congress 2013 event in Barcelona, but now we have the confirmation that it won’t happen.
After we’ve expected the Samsung Galaxy S4 to drop at CES 2013, an event where the South Koreans were busy unveiling new TVs and notebooks, the rumor mill hinted that the highly-anticipated flagship will arrive at MWC 2013. Well, it seems it won’t happen as Samsung will reportedly be busy unveiling a couple of other new smartphones and the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Tab 3.
JK Shin, head of Samsung Mobile division confirmed yesterday for INEWS24 that the flagship smartphone won’t be launched at the Barcelona-based tech event, without revealing the exact Samsung Galaxy S4 release date.
To be honest, I’m not surprised at all, as an early debut for the Samsung Galaxy S4 wouldn’t be enough to hurt the sales of the upcoming iPhone 5S, or iPhone 6, or The New iPhone, or whatever Apple decides to call it. Maybe Samsung will adopt the last year’s strategy, announcing its flagship smartphone sometime early May and the Galaxy Note 3 phablet in October, in an attempt to bash both iPhone 5 and iPhone 6′s sales.
There are a lot of details about the technical specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S4 out in the wild, but, of course they are all just rumors.
It seems that the successor of the popular Galaxy S3 will pack a 4.99-inch full HD display, and, according to some benchmark logs, it will be underpinned by the company’s proprietary octo-core Exynos 5 Octa SoC, unveiled earlier last month at CES 2013.
The camera sensor will most likely be upgraded, as well, and the Samsung Galaxy S4 will probably come with a 13 megapixel camera, instead of the 8 megapixel unit fitted on its predecessor.
Since the sources are hinting at an early May Galaxy S4 release date, it will definitely not run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, as the new version is set to debut at Google I/O on May 15th.
