Motorola Android 4.2 Jelly Bean For RAZR And RAZR MAXX

We just reported that Motorola was about to begin an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean soak test for the Droid RAZR and the Droid RAZR MAXX. That soak test came to an end quickly, as Motorola has now announced the official Droid RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update. Here's the news on Motorola's site
Verizon Gives Double Bonanza to Droid Razr and Razr Maxx – ICS and GSM Roaming Capability
“We’re happy to announce today that the Android 4.1.2 upgrade is rolling out to DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola owners in phases. Android™ 4.1 Jelly Bean offers new features and apps that make your life simpler. With features like Google Now, Voice Search and expanded notifications, all of your key information is at your fingertips.”
Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX owners are finally getting an update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and it brings some very sweet features. RAZR and RAZR MAXX owners will get the “better than Siri” Google Now feature which keeps track of your life in an elegant card-like user interface. You’ll be able to see how long your commute to work is expected to take, weather information, upcoming appointments, sports scores, traffic updates and more.
Users also get a new Expanded Notifications feature that allows you to call or text someone from your missed call notification. Jelly Bean’s notification area provides quick access to features and settings as well as all of your notifications.
Jelly Bean 4.1.2 also brings in Voice Search, which will allow you to ask a question and either get a voice response or a search results query. Google Now runs circles around Siri in terms of its accuracy and speed.
RAZR and RAZR MAXX owners will notice the zippier feel as Android 4.1.2 includes Google’s Project Butter, which provides a fast and smooth user interface. It’s amazing that Google tweaked the OS so much and put a real emphasis on speed. Motorola will be releasing this OTA (over the air) to all smartphones over the next few weeks.
Here’s how to update your RAZR or RAZR MAXX OTA:
1. From your phone’s home screen, touch the Menu button.
2. Touch Settings
3. Touch About phone.
4. Touch System updates
