New XOLO Handset - Claims to Be the “Fastest Smartphone Ever” 2013

New XOLO Handset Claims to Be the “Fastest Smartphone Ever”
March 14 may be a big day because the Samsung Galaxy S4 will finally be launching after months of rumors and speculation, but Samsung won’t be the only company announcing a hot new device.  In fact, this device is, as XOLO claims, the “Fastest Smartphone Ever”, an Intel-powered handset that will also be announced this Thursday, March 14, this time in Goa, India. XOLO has made it a point to build up a lot of hype for this event, and has a “Mission ‘X’ Launching In:” countdown timer for the launch of the yet-to-be-named device.  Media invitations have also been sent out for the Goa event; it isn’t stated in the invite what the event would be launching, but it can be inferred that the invites are for the launch event in Goa.  According to the Indian company’s website, the “speed barrier is all set to be shattered.”  Buyers are also encouraged on the site to  “fasten your seatbelts and get ready for Mission X. “
Specifications of the mystery Xolo phone are a huge unknown, except for the fact that it will run on an Intel processor.  We can assume that this would be the chipmaker’s new Clover Trail+ CPU, which made its first appearance at the 2013 Mobile World Congress late last month.  Three Clover Trail+ variants were unveiled at MWC 2013+, including a 2.0 GHz chip that could power display resolutions slightly beyond full-HD (1920 x 1080), as well as 16-megapixel rear cameras.  However, it’s anybody’s guess as to what XOLO’s “fastest smartphone ever” will feature aside from the Intel processor.
Regarding availability of the XOLO phone, don’t expect it to go far beyond India, just like many other lesser-known Asian smartphones don’t see a release outside of their home countries.  This definitely won’t be a Galaxy S4 in terms of widespread availability and popularity.  But it will be interesting to see just how fast this “fastest smartphone” can go.
