Samsung Galaxy S 4 review posted early


We're pretty sure that whoever posted this detailed Samsung Galaxy S 4 review shouldn't have done so, yet they did, presumably in order to rake up some page visits ahead of the smartphone's official announcement. Unfortunately, all of it is in Chinese - a language we're not fluent in, yet good thing that we have Google Translate to rescue us.

First of all, the review confirms a number of Samsung Galaxy S 4 specs, including the use of a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa SoC running at 1.8GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. The main camera is also said to be of 13 megapixels, just as we expected.

But here's where it starts to get really interesting. Close-up photos of the smartphone's 5-inch, 1080p Super AMOLED HD screen reveal that a new sub-pixel arrangement is in use - an arrangement that has not been present on any other Samsung display. What's the benefit from all that will be known with certainty in a few hours, but our guess is that it might have something to do with that fancy new PHOLED technology we've been hearing about.

The reviewer also confirms the presence of an infrared blaster on the Samsung Galaxy S 4 - a feature we saw not long ago on the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. Basically, it allows one to use the smartphone as a remote control for their TV or home entertainment system. We won't be surprised if there's a dedicated TV guide application available on the Galaxy S 4, made to recommend channels and TV shows and capable of switching to the channel currently running that content.

Interestingly, there is no wireless charging present on the Samsung Galaxy S 4, according to the review. That becomes evident from the photo of the smartphone placed on a wireless charging pad with its battery clearly not charging up.
