UMI X1s is a 4.5-inch quad-core HD smartphone powered by 1.2 Ghz MidiaTek MT6589 processor with 1GB RAM. The handset is now listed on umimobile.in for Rs.10,500/- Notably this is the lowest priced quad core HD mobile with specs similar to Micromax A116 HD.
It’s a Dual-sim smartphone with 4GB inbuilt storage expandable upto 64GB via microSD card. It has Retina Gorilla Glass Screen with 1280x720p HD resolution. For photography, it has 8MP auto focus rear camera with flash and 2MP front camera. It can record and play 1080p full HD videos.
Other features include, 3G, 2G, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0, 5 point touch, GPS, A-GPS and FM Radio. The sensors are still unknown.
The handset comes with some popular pre-loaded apps like Facebook, Twitter, Google play, Gmail, G-voice, Google maps etc and other apps can be downloaded through Google Play.
UMI X1s is available in Black and White colors. It’s 8.5mm thick and weighs 131 grams with 1850 mAh battery. Pre-booking has started and the delivery will start from 15 April 2013 along with other UMI handsets.

On papers X1s looks very attractive at a given price. It’s Rs.4000 cheaper than Micromax A116 HD which offers similar specs and features. Other smartphone you may consider is Xolo Q800 (Rs.11,500 street price), Karbonn Titanium S1 same price and almost same specs but not HD resolution however, you get 6 months of free 3G and 2G data with Airtel.
